Expectations for Online Learners

Important Information for Online Students-  Please Read Carefully

Online courses provide opportunities for students to attend classes anytime from anywhere; however, students are sometimes unprepared for the challenges of online learning.  Students typically underestimate the commitment necessary to be successful in an online course.  Our C-FB virtual courses are designed to meet the same rigor and effort that is required to earn credit in traditional seated classroom.  Our online courses require students to be interactive with the course content and their teachers as well as participate in online discussion forums with other online students.  Students will receive regular and specific feedback from teachers and are expected to respond to teachers’ questions and discussions.

Each course will have a pacing calendar and due dates for all assignments.  Students are expected to work actively in their course at least four days per week in order to stay on pace.  Successful online students should self-directed be motivated by working in an online environment. Students should not believe they can be successful by working in their course “whenever they get time”.
